About Atherton
Located in Far North Queensland, is the small town of Atherton home to around 7,200 people. The town is the largest service centre on the Atherton Tablelands with main cropping in the area being banana, sugarcane, corn, avocados, strawberries, nuts, mangoes and citrus. Dairy farms, grazing and poultry are also present in the Tablelands. Be sure to come and admire the crystals and jewellery at the Crystal Cave, visit the Tolga Bat Hospital, inspect the Hou Wang Miau temple and enjoy a drink at the Barron Valley Hotel.
